Majority of our suppliers are small scale cottage producers who employ women and youth to produce hand-made products. Your purchase helps create employment in these communities and provide financial stability. So to us this is a calling, to create value and connect our customers to the producers themselves. We take pride in the quality of the products we list and the workmanship that goes into producing them.
Most of our products are eligible for African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) tariff free importation. AGOA (Title I, Trade and Development Act of 2000; P.L. 106–200) was passed by the U.S. Congress in May 2000. The purpose of the legislation is to assist the economies of sub-Saharan Africa and to improve economic relations between the United States and the region. It was extended on 29 June 2015 by a further 10 years, to 2025. Leveraging this legislation, our products are competitively priced; they are sourced directly from our producers in Africa and in the process, we eliminate the middle-man and pass the savings on to you. They are drop-shipped to you which further reduces the final price.
